On a recent visit to Uxbridge, we installed a pair of Garador Carlton side-hinged garage doors in Brilliant White. With careful consideration of the homeowner’s needs, we created this bespoke garage door solution which offered functionality as well as a stylish and modern aesthetic. 

Often we find that customers no longer use their garages for cars, and this house was no exception. The garage here was being used as a summer house, providing the homeowners with extra entertaining space, but their current up-and-over garage door was becoming a hassle due to its weight and also taking up room in the garage. A side-hinged garage door would give the customer the space they desired, while also offering security and energy efficiency. 

Since Garador side-hinged doors have a maximum width of 2539mm, we needed to build timber stud work walls to adjust the large opening left by the old garage door to the correct size. These walls were then clad with white UPVC to match the new white garage doors for a seamless finish. 

The installed doors were then complemented with a stunning black hardware set including levers and handles, and door stays equipped with gas struts, which allow for lightweight operation and ensure the doors remain securely open in position. This model can be configured as either a right-hand or left-hand leading leaf, here the customer chose a left-hand model.
