About This Garage Door Install
At this newly renovated and extended garage in Farnham, we supplied and fitted two Hormann LPU 42 L-Ribbed sectional doors in the striking Duragrain Rusty Oak finish. This design gives the look of natural timber while still offering the strength and low-maintenance benefits of steel.
Both doors were fitted behind the openings, using White Silkgrain 55mm cover profiles and fascias. This approach makes the most of the available space and gives the homeowner maximum drive-through width, which is especially useful on a double-garage setup.
The two garage openings were different sizes, but one of the advantages of Hormann sectional doors is how flexible they are. Even if the openings vary, the finished doors still line up and look like a matched pair once fitted.
The garage also has loft hatches inside, which meant the Supramatic E4 operators needed to be positioned slightly off-centre. Thanks to the stability and balance of Hormann sectional doors, this doesn’t affect the way the doors open or close—the operation is still smooth, quiet, and consistent.
The Result
The Rusty Oak finish has completely transformed the look of the garage, giving it a warm, modern appearance that ties in perfectly with the renovated property. Both doors sit evenly despite the different opening sizes, and the electric operators run reliably even with the offset installation.
